HDMI 2.1
Just when you think 2.0b was good enough, the HDMI Forum has released the spec to cover HDR with dynamic metadata in 2.1.
Free TV
They actually told us not to take a picture as this was a proprietary technology. The sad thing was, these were the only TV antennas we saw.
Vuze 360
This is the next step in inexpensive 360 VR cameras. 8 cameras and 4 mics, with "simple to use" stitching software.
Tesla Autonomous Drive
Autonomous Drive was everywhere and some do it better than others.
Tesla sensors and cameras are hidden in emblems and the interior.
Fixed Wing Drone with a Twist
This drone can fly like a plane but take off like a copter. It has interchangeable nose cones depending on the task.
The CES Auto Show
Automotive was huge this week. Follow this like to pics of some of the cars at the show: https://picasaweb.google.com/115316535095078870023/6373366382304387105?authkey=Gv1sRgCLGnqrDQhv21TQ

Cisco on Board
This autonomous Ford actually had a Cisco network switch connecting all of the sensors and processors.
Mercedies Benz Delivery
This was a concept for a future delivery van where it would drive into a town then use two rooftop born drones to make the deliveries to the home or business. We asked the FAA what they thought and I'm paraphrasing "don't hold your breath"...
NVIDIA Settop
The NVIDIA Shield might be the most powerful settop box on the market. Teamed with Amazon it is fully 4k and HDR ready.
NVIDIA HDR Gaming
NVIDIA is offering a cloud gaming solution that streams a HD with HDR video picture with interactivity to almost any PC or Mac.
The Sound Makes the Picture
I think this was my favorite demo. The Definitive Technologies BP9080x speakers. They have the Dolby Atmos effect speakers on board and matching center and rear effects for 7.1, 5.1 etc, but when we switched them to Stereo Only with the source of the Sony lossless Walkman it was a breathtaking sound experience. They are a little pricey but wow 😳
360 Degrees ConCall
Ricoh has come out with software to allow the Theta S to be used in a teleconference and the video will track/pan to who's speaking.
Intel
The Internet of Things was alive and well at Intel. Everything you could imagine a device with "Intel Inside" was shown "connected", including this really cool BMW i8.
Snapdragon
Qualcomm showed video with HDR on a next gen smartphone powered with the latest Snapdragon processor. Even though it was a small screen having HDR made it more impactful.
Smart Home Switch
My choice for home lighting, device control and automation and Siri & Alexa won't have to fight over them because they work with both at the same time.
